SEL Initiative: Devanahalli
Parents Reimagined

The SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) Initiative by The Suniti Solomon Foundation, in partnership with ChildFund India, focuses on nurturing emotional intelligence, empathy, and positive parenting in Devanahalli.
Through creative sessions and playful activities like the “Fruit Salad” game, parents learned to appreciate their children’s individuality — replacing criticism with understanding and scolding with support. The project created safe spaces where emotional growth and family bonding came together, promoting both resilient homes and equitable workplaces.
By helping parents reimagine connection and care, this initiative strengthens not just families, but the emotional fabric of the entire community.

What We Stand For?

Earlier I used to scold my son for every small mistake. Now I take a deep breath, listen, and talk calmly. Our bond feels stronger than ever.

Now, instead of shouting, I sit with my child and ask how their day was. They talk more, and smile more too.

The games we played helped my parents see what I like and don’t like. We laugh together more now.

I like that my dad asks me about my day and hugs me when I’m sad. It makes me feel safe.
